but should they be black - like a drawing squiggle - and a bit thinner - like the line made with a pen - I'm guess in Maya, you'd just 'vanish' the filaments when the light comes on and reappear it when it goes off; I sort of see it as synching nicely with the outside line of the traffic light itself - I could be completely wrong about the filament thing, but I feel somehow that they might tie the bulbs in a bit more with the rest of your world. Try a few variations maybe and see if it works.
